1. Collection and Use of Information
We collect information from our customers on the sign-up
page, and we only collect the data we need to operate our
service and bill our customers. Specifically, we collect the
following data on each individual customer:
Name and address: We need your name and address to
charge your credit card, since we don't have physical access
to your embossed card.
Phone number(s): We use your phone number to authenticate
you as a paying customer when you call our service, so we
know who to bill for each call (we compare the phone number
you registered with the caller-ID information arriving along
with each call to Easy411.
Credit card number: We use this to bill you for the
Easy411 service.
Email address: We send an email notification each
time we bill your credit card (typically once per month),
and we also include a brief summary of call activity for the
month.
If you are a corporate customer we do not collect information
from you via the web; but we do store the following information
in an online database that is provided by your company:
Name: We use this information to invoice your employer
for the calls you have made.
Phone number(s): Depending on the nature of your Corporate
Plan, your company will provide your mobile phone number;
your office phone number; and if requested by you, your home
phone number(s). These will only be used to authenticate your
phone numbers as being related to a paying corporate customer
when you call Easy411.
Billing codes: These are provided at the discretion
of the company, to allow us to report back to your company
their monthly usage by billing code.
1.1 Communication
We communicate with our customers in four specific situations:
(1) When we bill you, we send you an email as a courtesy
summarizing the bill and reminding you that your credit card
has been charged.
(2) If there is a problem with your account - either an issue
with customer service, or a billing problem - we may contact
you via email or by phone to discuss the situation and try
to resolve it.
(3) If we notice a change in your usage pattern - for example,
a significant increase in volume in a short period of time
- we may contact you via email or phone - to ensure that there
is no fraud occurring. If we notice a significant drop in
volume, we may notify you via email or phone to understand
whether our service is meeting your needs.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes, to cross-sell
you additional services, or to learn more about your needs,
without your explicit approval. Some customers appreciate
the opportunity to learn about new services, but most do not
, and we respect both of these points of view.
1.2 Cookies
Our website uses cookies to track which pages are selected,
how long they are viewed, and to identify which marketing
partner directed you to our site. These cookies expire after
30 days and contain no personally identifiable information.
We do not share the information contained in the cookies with
anyone, and only report aggregate data to our marketing partners.
1.3 Demographic Information

(except as obviously discerned through area code designations).

log information such as IP address, browser type and referring
website. We use this information to analyze trends, administer
the site, track usage patterns on the website and measure
the effectiveness of our marketing programs. We do not link
any log information to personally identify any user, and we
do not share our log data with anyone, except as needed to
prevent fraud or abuse.

Mandatory information we ask customers to provide includes:
(a) email address; (b) credit card number; (c) credit card
CCV/CID code; (d) credit card expiration date; and (e) registered

We also collect the following optional information: (a) your

2. What Organization Is Collecting the Information
Easy411, Inc., a Massachusetts corporation, provides the
Easy411 service, and contracts to Teledvance Communications

the incoming calls and corresponding phone numbers, and authenticates
the users by checking their caller-ID information against
the customer database. Teledvance does not collect or retain
any other information about individual customers, and Teledvance
has agreed to abide by Easy411's privacy policy as enumerated
here and thus will not user your information for any secondary
purposes.
2.1 Sharing of Information
We do not share any information with any organization unless
compelled to do so by law, or to protect our own legal rights,
or to provide the Easy411 service (specifically, we must share
our customers' telephone number with Teledvance Communications
LLC to allow them to process the call on our behalf. Teledvance
Communications LLC agrees to adhere to our published privacy
policy and not use your information for any secondary purposes).
2.2 Third Party Intermediaries
We process our credit card payments through Cardservice International,
Inc., and we provide them with all information necessary to
authorize a charge to a valid credit card. These entities
are not permitted to use your information for any secondary
purposes.
2.3 Choice/Opt-Out or Opt-In
Since we do not share any information with other parties,
we do not provide our customers with the choice of opting
out of providing us with the information we need to provide
our service. As stated above, most of the information we collect
is mandatory; if the user fails to provide the basic information
we collect, he/she cannot use our service.
2.4 Correct/Update/Cancel
Users can update their Personally Identifiable Information
via the "Manage
My Account" section of the website. While we do not
have any formal process to allow customer information to be
updated by other means (e.g. mail, email or telephone) we
will make a best efforts basis to update customer information
records if a customer chooses to send us this information
via email, mail or telephone.
Users may cancel their account at any time via the "Manage
My Account" section of the website, by calling Customer
Service, or via email to support@easy411.com.
Cancellation is effective immediately and is free of charge.
After cancellation, Easy411 retains the user's personal information
on file only for accounting purposes and to prevent fraud,
and the information will be used thereafter for no other purpose.
2.5 Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect the
confidentiality of our customers' information. We ensure that
each employee has carefully reviewed both the privacy policy
and our security procedures before they are hired, and we
ask them to sign a written statement to the effect that they
will adhere to these policies as employees.
Access to the databases that store personal information are
restricted only to Easy411 employees and contractors who are
responsible for maintaining and enhancing the database. Access
is limited by password as well as by network location (no
access is allowed from an unapproved IP address).
We encrypt credit card information, both while stored on
our databases and when we transmit that information over the
internet. We also use encryption during the signup process
and when users log into their accounts, and at any other time
that account-specific information would be presented to a
user via the internet.
We periodically review our security policies in light of
the changing technology that is available and the environment
in which our business operates.
2.6 Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes to this privacy statement and other places we deem
appropriate so our users are always aware of our privacy policies
as they may change over time. We will obtain written or active
email consent from users if we plan to use the information
collected from the customer in a manner materially different
from that stated at the time of collection.
2.7 Readability
We are committed to making our privacy policy simple and
understandable. If anything you have read here is confusing
or unclear, please contact us by email at support@easy411.com;
or write to us at Easy411, Inc., 10 Mall Road, Burlington,
MA 01803; or call us at 781-229-1680.
This policy is effective as of April 9, 2004.
